amaysim Guide to Troubleshooting for Windows 6.5 Here’s a guide to troubleshooting problems for connecting to the internet with your Windows mobile. Before you start, you may need your handset user manual. If you don’t have a copy, you can find it online. Search manufacturer’s name, model of your handset & user manual (e.g. HD2 user manual).

Some key terms What do we mean by ‘tap’ and ‘push’? ‘Tap’ means using your touch screen. ‘Push’ means pushing the hard buttons on your phone.

To enable the connection, follow these steps: 1. Tap Start, then select Settings 2. Tap Connections, then select Connection 3. Tap Advanced, then select Select networks 4. Under Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using, select Optus Internet 5. Tap OK twice, then tap X 6. Test to see if you’re connected to the internet

First, confirm that you are in a data coverage area. Look at the top bar of your mobile screen. It should show G (GPRS) or E (Edge), if you don’t see these symbols, you do not have data coverage. Your mobile will only connect to the internet in an area with data coverage.

5. Tap Servers tab. Ensure that Use server-assigned addresses is ticked

I get notifications that I have a new MMS but it doesn’t download. How do I download it?

1. The message is too large The Optus Network has a size limit of 300kb per message. To lower the ‘message size limit’ in the settings of your phone, follow the MMS instructions on ‘Manual Set-up for MMS’ in amaysim Guide to Mobile Internet Settings and MMS for Windows 6.5. Follow steps 1 – 20.

To download the message, tap the received Message, tap Menu, tap Download.
