Confession of Sin & Assurance of Pardon Leader: As we prepare to come to the Lord’s table, we come examining ourselves, asking for forgiveness for what we have done and what we have left undone -‐ in thought, word, and deed. People: Lord we ask that you forgive us for lusting and longing after the relationships, jobs, and things of this world that we do not have. Help us to be content with you, the Giver of Life. Leader: Forgive us for our selfishness and when we have not taken advantage of the open doors to serve our neighbors with our words and actions -‐ to be your hands and feet in this broken and wandering world. People: Forgive us for the many ways in which we continue to hoard your Good News. Increase the burden in our hearts for the broken and lost. Continue to open doors. Continue to open our mouths. And for your Kingdom’s sake and for your glory open the hearts of the lost to your Good News. Leader: Now having confessed our sins before our Holy and loving God hear these words he offers us from Jeremiah 33 “I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me.” This has been perfectly fulfilled through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his death on the cross and his resurrection from the grave.
