Call to Worship | P AUL V ROOM (B ASED ON C OLOSSIANS 2:13-15) Leader:
When we were stuck in our old sin-dead life We were incapable of responding to God. But God has made us alive together with him.
People:
He has forgiven us all our trespasses He has canceled the record of debt that stood against us and all its legal demands
Leader:
Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, set these things aside and nailed them to a cross. Rejoice, for our Father has disarmed the rulers and authorities through the victorious death of Christ!
Leader:
The Lord be with You… People: And also with you

Prayer of Confession | Todd Paben (Based on Psalm 32:5-7) Leader:
In Psalm 32, David writes, “I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover iniquity. I said ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’ and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; Silent prayers of confession You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.

“The Apostle Paul says that we need not try to find life in empty things because we have already been given life in Christ, in whom all the fullness of God dwells. Though we were once dead in our sins, we have now been made alive. We are offered the kind of life where we are forgiven of our sins, where the debt we owed because of our transgressions has been paid in full; the notice of the cancelled debt has been nailed to the cross and we bear it no more. The cross of Christ marks a decisive triumph over the power of the devil, and what follows that victory is a triumphal parade celebrating the security we have in Christ forever.”
