Principal’s Message With the end of school year near, please remember to check the school website and our weekly online newsletter for important dates and events happening with your child. In the upcoming months we have several field trips, field days, awards assemblies and much more! Our teachers and staff are working hard to finish out the school year by making sure your child has the content skills to move on to the next grade. Make sure to contact your child’s teacher if you still have concerns about your child’s academic progress. All of our staff at SES strive to educate for success.
Kindergarten Registration Sheridan School District is looking forward to meeting its new kindergarteners and their parents. Kindergarten Registration will be on Tuesday, April 19, and Thursday, April 21. Please call 870-942-3131 to schedule a time to come on one of those two days between 10:00 a.m. and 6: 00 p.m. Parents should bring their child to registration for a pre-kindergarten screening.

IOWA Testing The Iowa tests are paper-based normreferenced tests which measure the performance of individual Arkansas students against a national group. These tests will identify students who may need additional instruction in language arts, math, and science. When a test is being given, you can help by making sure your student *gets plenty of sleep the night before the test; *has breakfast on the morning of the test; *goes to school on the day of a test; *does not have any out-of-school appointments on the day of a test; *knows that you think he/she will do well on the tests; and *knows you understand that the test is important.
