Using embroidery machine file format and Block Instructions located on the Art Deco Fan CD, stitch out the 6 blocks for one placemat. Trim per Block Instructions. Use the “Joining the Quilted Blocks” instructions for connecting the 6 blocks together. For the Placemat, attach joining strips to both sides of the quilted block and then attach the applique blocks to either side. Remember to finish the back joining strip after pressing with either a “decorative stitch”, “stitch in the ditch” or “hand stitch”. For a consistent look, do the “decorative stitch” or “stitch in the ditch” on both sides of the joining strip. Also, remember to change the bobbin thread as needed to have nice a finish on the back side of the Placemat. Finish the Placemat with binding. Use a scant ½” seam to attach binding to front. This will match the width of the Joining Strips.
