Interpretation – March 6, 2014 Leadership Training and Team-‐Building Activities with Physical Components (I) The academic and membership affairs staff determined that bona fide leadership training and/or team-‐building activities, conducted as part of life skills programming, that include physical components incidental to the leadership/team-‐building exercise (e.g., carrying a teammate) may occur at any time (in season or out of season). Such physical activities are not countable athletically related activities as long as they are separate and distinguishable from normal practice or strength and conditioning activities, occur only on an infrequent basis and neither tactical nor technical instruction related to the student-‐athletes' sport is provided.
