The competition for class 1 – “50cm” will be judged on a combination of Dressage and Show Jumping scores. However riders in this class are able to train over the Cross Country course, in back number order, with their parent or trainer on the course. This class is open to riders holding D+ Certificate or below ONLY

The Competition for class 2 and 3 is a “One Day Event” with three phases: Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country.

Open to all riders 21 years and under. Sorry, we cannot cater for adults. No lead rein riders.

Dressage callers are permitted for the Class 1 Test Only.

Dressage times will be emailed out - please ensure you provide us with your correct and current email address.

Dressage approved Snaffle bits only in the dressage phase.

All families must supply one jump judge (except for the Class 1 riders) unless they are involved in helping run the event and the committee has given them dispensation. A penalty of $40 is to be paid if no jump judge is provided; this fee is used to employ jump judges for the event.

Pony Club uniform to be worn by Members. Pony Club approved safety helmets must be worn in all phases. (Blue Tag in place). Long sleeves and medical armbands must be worn for both jumping phases. A back protector must be worn for the Cross Country phase as per NZPCA regulations from 1/1/2009.

Gear check prior to Show Jumping and Cross Country.

Competition runs under NZPCA rules.

Otumoetai Te Puna Pony Club Inc does not accept any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles, their contents or any other personal property in any way whatsoever.

The organiser reserves the right to alter the programme, redirect a rider to another level or nominate an experienced rider as a non-competitor.

Branch Head Instructors will be provided a list of their riders to ensure riders are entered in the appropriate class.

Refunds after the closing date for entries must be in writing and must be accompanied with a vet’s certificate, and are at the discretion of the Event Secretary. Any request for a refund must be done in writing and will be addressed post event.

Entries capped at 50, on a first come first served basis.

In the event of cancellation this will be posted on the Tauranga Pony Club Events Facebook page and by email through branch secretaries where possible.

No dogs allowed at Otumoetai Te Puna Pony Club Inc Grounds.
Inter-Branch Team Competition Details: Riders state their Branch (or Club if no branch) when entering and are automatically entered as part of their Branch/Club team (Class 2 and 3 Riders Only). There is no limit on the number of riders per Branch/Club. The best 3 scores overall from Class 2 or Class 3 from each Branch will go toward their team score. The NZPCA 5 rally rule applies to team members with 3 of these being on the competing mount, except for C+ riders where the 4 rally rule applies with 2 of these being on the competing mount. The Winning Branch/Club will be awarded the “Otumoetai Te Puna Pony Club Inter-Branch Junior ODE Team Trophy”. Riders – please ensure you list your Branch/Club in your Equestrian Entry – MY ACCOUNT - there is also a field to enter your Certificate Level (if applicable).
