BBC Meeting Minutes September 9, 2013 Attendance Scott Larson, Brenda Dahl, Nick Guida, Joel Bjerke, Tammy Johnson, Dave Maatz, Julie Willert, Traci Pederson, Ron Spier, Jason Sorenson, Brian Ewer, Rebecca Smith.
Approval of August Minutes Ron Spier made a motion to approve August minutes, Brenda Dahl seconded; motion carries.
Treasurer’s Report Tammy is meeting with Tax preparer 9/23 and will work with her on clean-up of uncleared deposits. Insurance premium was paid. Traci Pederson motioned to approve the August treasurer’s report, Dave Maatz seconded; motion carries.
Coach Guida’s Report Budget items: Nick requesting $7,000 for this year’s budget. Need $2000 more than past $5000 budget for 9th grade uniforms and overnight to Bemidji. Budget for 22 uniforms. Ron Spier made motion to cover cost of new uniforms; Brenda Dahl seconded; motion carries. $5000 budget remains intact. Holiday Classic: Nick working through details with STMA. Tom B. is going to pick up officiating costs and will also keep concession and entry fees proceeds. Tom told Nick the Nick will need to cover $500 stipend; STMA is going to be sponsored by Ameriprise, $500 for next 3 years.
Old Business AAU funding requests: Levi Bean attended and provided update on AAU season. Referee contracts: Kevin Schmeeling did accept contract to extend for one year at same rate. Insurance renewal (liability insurance): renewed policy effective 9/1/13. In past, we have had a supplemental accident policy which covers players if they do not have insurance. $450 cost to maintain this policy. Ron Spier made motion we do not renew this insurance; Julie Willert seconded; motion passed, we will not renew that policy.

Summer 10,000 Shot Club: Brenda presented information for t-shirts. Ron Spier
made a motion to order shirts for those who successfully complete 10,000 shots; Joel Bjerke seconded; motion carries. Buffalo tournament update: 30 teams so far. Year ahead coaching: One possible paid coach. MYAS ad is still posted. Year ahead tryout dates: o Sept 29 Sunday evening & Sept 30 Monday evening o Sunday: 4th – 6th 5:00-6:30, 7th-8th 6:45-8:15 o Monday: 4th – 6th 5:45-7:15, 7th-8th 7:30-9:00 o Tune up clinics: Mondays, 16th and 23rd o Signs: Jason coordinating signs for Culvers and Truman Welters. Scott will get info in paper. Fliers will be distributed in schools this week. Traci will also drop off fliers at St. Francis. Year Ahead policies & procedures: Board reviewed P & Ps and recommended final updates. Scott will finalize and post. New Business Varsity programs & advertising: discussed idea of having different levels of ads; instead of going to businesses 3 times throughout season for donations, set up different levels at beginning to build in $ to cover all events. Tammy will work with Joel and report back next month. Facility rental: the Community Ed permit Scott just received stated price of $10, fees/court were $8. Waiting for follow up from Sheila after she talks further internally with Community Ed staff. Upcoming schedule of events: o Sat, Oct 5 Team formation board only meeting: Start at noon at Buffalo airport o Sun, Oct 6 Teams posted o Mon, Oct 7 BBC meeting: 7:30 at Buffalo airport o Sat, Oct 12 Coaches clinic: Nick will follow up to confirm times o Mon, Oct 14 Parent meeting: 7:30 at BCMS o Mon, Oct 21 Practices begin Invite from Delano for scrimmage prior to Timberwolves game – Delano contacted Julie regarding invite to teams to scrimmage Delano teams prior to a Timberwolves game November 13th. Scott will provide information regarding pricing and game times as in the past there has been a minimum # of tickets to purchase, etc. Nick Guida motioned to adjourn the meeting; Brenda Dahl seconded the motion.
