BBC Meeting Minutes September 12, 2017 Attendance: Ron Spier, Brad Johnson, Annette Peterson, Rodney Bluiett, Molly Pool, Jake Lindquist, Andy Willman, Josh Ortmann, Jason Sorenson, John Perry, Sara Perry, Matt Lubben, Mike Curry, Brad Zrust, Aaron Hegle, & Tom Leimer Approval of August Minutes: Rodney made a motion to approve the August minutes; Molly seconded; motion carries Treasurer’s Report Andy made a motion to approve August treasurer’s report, Rodney seconded; motion carries. Coach Ortmann’s Report ➔ Not much new. Old Business - Andy reported o Player Development research - Brad talked about estimate from Ramsey Printing & Design Inc that he received & what the amounts will be for with or without ads in the program. o Doesn’t include cost of setup. 16 pages w/ no advertisements in it or 20 pages with 4 pages of advertisement in. o Jake made a motion to do the 16 page program w/ 2 pages dedicated to advertisements. Coach Josh seconded; motion carries. - Annette reported on upcoming tournaments o There are 64 registered + 14 Buffalo = 78 teams for November. o There are 20 registered + 12 Buffalo = 32 teams for February. Coach Mike Curry voiced concern regards to 4 team brackets that they played in last year. Matt Lubben asked about the # of tournaments. Thought it was to be grade +1 Brad Zrust spoke about not having the Super Saturdays, and asked why the extra tournaments when the recommendation was to play less tournaments. Ron explained that based on parent survey feedback it was a strong desire to have more tournaments. Attendance for Super Saturdays wasn’t great. The scheduling of tournaments was difficult with having to plan for the Super Saturdays. John Perry brought up that the feedback at the Coaches meeting wasn’t unanimous. He mentioned he had a 3 week break last year.

Jason Sorenson asked how parent feedback overlooks what the coaches wanted with the shorter season. Rodney advised that all team tournaments are scheduled and posted on the team pages. Coach Mike Curry asked about possibility of moving the 3-point line into 15-16 feet. The younger kids are developing bad habits with bad form trying to shoot 3-pointers. o Ron stated it’s something we can possibly do next season.
New Business - Traci – absent for the update on By-Law revisions was tabled - Coach Ortmann will look at calendar and come up with a date & send it out to all coaches. Oct. 16 (Coach) o Weeknight: 6-8:30 o Saturday or Sunday: - All Team Camps: Tues. Oct. 24 Thurs. 26 - Jake talked about compensating Chris & Terri Fredrick to continue to maintain our website Jake made the motion. Annette seconded, motion has been passed. o $550 for each Open Forum - John Perry: asked about team formation, and why this year we decided on 8 player teams, and not 9 like we did last year. o Ron provided an explanation of why - Coach Tom Leimer: 7 grade coach asked to have the 1 kid that was cut from the 7th graders put onto his team. - Coach Hegle: asked how the 5th grade teams were formed. He had no problems with how they were done, just was curious. Motion to adjourn: by Rodney, seconded by Ron. Meeting adjourned at 8:01 pm
We continue to encourage everyone to attend our monthly meetings held the 2nd Monday of every month at the Buffalo Airport, 7 p.m.
