A dozen rolls cost $6 and pick up is easy at Texas Roadhouse the week of Thanksgiving! Please see attached flyer for more details.

[email protected] Girls Basketball - FRIDAY Girls basketball would like to invite fans out to its home opener this Friday, November 3rd against Stafford. Games begin at 4 pm. Also please be on the look out for the basketball t shirt fundraiser. Please purchase a shirt from a team member cost are $15 to $25. Go Rams!
GOLF? Any boys or girls interested in playing golf, please contact Coach Smith at
[email protected]. Our philosophy at Cy Ridge is to share athletes so it is okay if the student is in another sport. We can usually work out a practice schedule to make both sports work. All students interested in playing golf must have their own clubs and transportation, be in good standing with all other athletic programs, and maintain a passing average. Thank you—Coach Smith

Coach’s Corner— Coach Newman A little bit about Coach Newman. I am Houston native. I am a proud product of Aldine ISD. I recieved a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Prairie View A&M and a Masters in Business Administration from Texas Southern University. While at Prairie View, I played volleyball for 4 years and basketball for 2 years. I was apart of a very successful class while there. I garnered All Conference Honors, was a SWAC Champion, SWAC MVP, and member of the 2017 Prairie View Hall of Fame Class. After college. I planned on becoming a sports broadcaster. I enjoyed a 3 month internship with very popular 610 sports radio. After experiencing a reality check about having to move to small town, USA to get into the industry and graduating during the recession. I decided to get a Masters degree . I helped women’s basketball out as graduate assistant for a year and realized I might have a future in coaching. I have coached High School Varsity and club volleyball for 8 years. This club season I will be coaching 12 years for Houston Force. Of all the accolades I have received: 2x Coach of the Year, minority coach scholarship recipient, several trips to playoffs. I'm most proud of the 14 young ladies who went on to play volleyball in college. My favorite passtime is doing anything sports related. I spend my summers working speed and strength camp at Ridge and working college volleyball camps. Volleyball has taken me all over the country. I attend The NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship every year. The coolest place they’ve ever had it was in Seattle and I stayed for 9 days to experience the city. Jill Lytle Wilson, former associate Head Coach at LSU was once my mentor in a program through the AVCA. I enjoy reading anything by Tony Dungey, ex NFL player. Amazing coach, father, husband, and Christian. My favorite quote: “High Achievers dont like mediocre people, and mediocre people don’t like high achievers.“

What is CRABC? CRABC stands for Cy-Ridge Athletic Booster Club. It is a booster club created to support ALL athletes. Our goal is the betterment of ALL athletic departments along with providing two scholarships to our athletes. Each sport incurs costs for their equipment, repairs, banquets, tournament entry fees, and much more. In addition to these costs, we have maintenance on equipment, new equipment needs, training equipment and changing technology needs. We strive each year to help cover as much of those costs as possible.
Our 2017-2018 Board Members President: Stephanie Preto Treasurer: Roman Longoria Secretary: Juanita Shihadeh Recruitment Committee Chair: Daphne Barnes Merchandising Committee Chair: Brenda Stancik
When is our next meeting? CRABC meets on the FIRST Monday of each month 6:30 pm at Harris County BBQ located at 19811 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77065. Look forward to seeing everyone there! Join our mailing list? https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/crabc
