2 Squares 5 1/4” Cut in quarters diagonally making 8 triangles Fabric Background 12 Squares 4 1/2” 8 Squares 5 1/4” Piecing Four blocks make up this one block unit. Stitch together the Fabric #7 triangles to the Fabric background triangles. Sew beginning on the straight edge, not the point of the triangle. Make 24. Seam together the Fabric #14 triangles to the Fabric nbackground triangles. Sew beginning on the straight edge, not the point of the triangle. Make 8. Seam the triangle sections together to create 4 1/2” squares. Make 8 of each shown at right.
Center a Fabric #7 quarter square in--between two Fabric background 4 1/2” squares (row 1). Make 4.
Center a Fabric #14 4 1/2” square in-between a Fabric #7 quarter square unit and a Fabric #7/#14 quarter square unit (row 2). Make 4. Center a Fabric #14 4 1/2” square in-between a Fabric #7 quarter square unit and a Fabric #7/#14 quarter square unit (row 2). Make 4.
Create the last strip using one Fabric Background 4 1/2” square, a Fabric #7/ #14 quarter square unit, and a Fabric #7 4 1/2” square (row 3). Make 4. Seam the three rows together to create the block shown at right. Make 4. Stitch the four blocks together making sure the Fabric A squares match up as shown on the first page. Block should measure 24 1/2” X 24 1/2”.
