Prismatic Star pre cutting
Prismatic Star 64”x 64” Pre-Cutting Instructions This is a list of what you will need to have cut and bagged BEFORE the 1st Class. It will include the size to cut pieces of fabric so you will be ready to use the Template Layout Sheets from the pattern. You will need 8 gallon size Ziploc bags marked 1-8. Be sure to mark each piece you cut with what color # it is and what unit it is for.
If you are using a Judy Niemeyer/Hoffman 48 piece Bali Pop please leave it sealed. The fabric is in the correct order and you are ready to go!
If you are using another brand of Bali Pop or Jelly Roll that has 40 or 42 pieces. Please make sure to buy extra fabric to have a total of (48) - 2 ½ “by 42”pieces cut and sorted. See below for sorting instructions..
Selecting your own fabrics is definitely an option. You will need a total of (48) - 2 ½” by 42” pieces cut. This can be done by choosing 8 different fabrics. Each is arranged starting from the lightest color being Fabric #1 and finishing with the darkest color being fabric #8. This makes 1 set. You will need 6 of these is color sets with different fabrics. Please put 1 set in each bag. Six individual strip sets are needed to complete one quilt.
Before the 2nd Class please have the following Pre-cutting done: Accent Fabric #A1: The black divider strip that sits between each diamond unit is referred to as the accent fabric; you can use any color you like. You will need 1-1/8 yards of fabric. Cut (3) 13 ½” by 42” for this fabric and put in bag 7. Background Fabric #B: Cut (4) 16-1/2” by 42” strips place in bag 8.
