Both teams are getting incredibly close to putting together PRfect races. With a little bit of good health and a whole lot of desire, I believe both the ladies and men can find success in the coming weeks and surprise a few teams. It will take every ounce of effort that each of us has to make this happen. Put in a PRfect week of practice, and combine in with the PRfect amount of rest, PRfect nutrition, a renewed focus on PRfect preand post-run stretching and plyos, and we can be PRfect on Saturday. And don’t forget to be a PRfect teammate and friend.
League Championship
For many on the team, you will be competing in your last race of the season. Put everything into this final opportunity to test your mettle and discover the greatness that is inside of you. For the varsity, we have the chance to make a statement as we compete in the new version of the CVC. It will be a very competitive meet, one that will require us to live our creed, and the strength of the wolf is the pack, if we are to be successful. Form the pack from the outset, as it is easier to maintain a pack that is forged from the start as opposed to trying to catch and then stay with your pack somewhere in the middle of the race.
Harrier of the Week
Thanks to many of you for making this selection a difficult one. For the final week of the regular season, let’s congratulate AVA STRAHAN and TYLER JOHNSON for their great performances on Saturday. Ava rebounded in a big way this week with a personal best race. Ava helped to form a solid 2-4 pack for the ladies as she paced with teammates Maddie Dew and Jackie Beyer throughout the race. And the wonder of all wonders? A smile sighting after mile one. Tyler became just the fourth freshmen boy to break the 18 minute barrier in the last fifteen years for Perry. Tyler formed a great one-two punch with teammate Justin Babic as the two had their finest performances of the season. Speaking of Justin, honorable mention for the award goes to him for giving an inspired effort to his team in providing the Harriers with a solid leader. Congratulations to Ava, Tyler and Justin!
