Warm up - Jog, side steps, skips, high knees, sprints, lunge walks, walk, hip and shoulder rotations Blocked Practice Reaction saves low

Technical Drill - The Low Shot - Instructions and Key Coaching Points The Coach will play balls in towards the GK for players to run onto Players must aim to shoot low inside the Red cones with 1st time shot Can the GK explode out and get set just in front of the Red cones before the shot is taken Can the GK make the save using the sweep technique to stop the ball passing through the cones Strikers are responsible for collecting their ball and returning to the line Coaching Points: Can the GK have the determination to explode out and get set before the shot is taken Can the GK make the save using the sweep of the legs technique Technical Drill Progression - The dribble around the GK The Coach will play balls in towards the GK for players to run onto Players must now aim to control the ball and attempt to dribble around the GK and through either Red to Yellow Coned gate Can the GK explode out and get set just in front of the Red cones before the player gains control Can the GK get down low, palms facing out, stay on feet until the ball is pushed to the side before attacking low at the players feet Coaching Points: Can the GK have the determination to explode out and get set before the player gains control Can the GK find the correct low position and attack at the correct time to win the ball at the players feet Progression to small sided game 2 balls in play at same time, white attack 1 end while red/blue attack the other, each team must play 3 realistic passes unopposed before a ball is played out of the central zone for a player to run onto. Players must take turns to run onto ball. Player running onto ball must attempt to either shoot low 1st time or dribble round the GK to score. Strikers must bring their ball back to the central zone before they can restart. Play for 10 mins, most goals wins.
