The past six months or so I’ve had an interest in the questions asked in the Bible. So many of the Biblical questions are rhetorical---that is a question asked only for effect, as to emphasize a point, no answer being expected. Such is the case in Matthew 6:27, “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” No need to answer that question. The point is already made. No answer is necessary.

New Families

It’s been said that 44% of what we worry about never happens. It’s also been said that worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair. It will give you something to do, but it will never get you anywhere. We humans are prone to worry about the past and the future as well as the present.

In his book , “The Jesus Code,” O. S. Hawkins says worry is foolish, futile, frustrating, and faithless. Worry is the opposite of faith. Worry and faith are both reactions to life’s circumstances. If our life is not governed by Scripture, circumstances will have greater power over us and we will understandably react with worry. Worry reveals

Greetings from h.o.p.e. Ministry… Since the last newsletter, I have been on a 17 day mission trip to Honduras. Thank you for the prayers. Our mission was to Love and Serve. We built a Sunday School building for the Alpha & Omega Mission. The first Sunday we were there our translator asked me to preach at his church. The message was, “Love needs no translation.” Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Region 7 Missions Rally, Feb. 19 at Millers Creek Baptist Church. Record attendance with over 280 present. Featured speakers and entertainment.

Now I am back home and the same message applies. To be the best witness for Christ we must be all about the love of Christ. We don’t have to go to the ends of the earth, we can just go to our neighbor and show the love of Christ Jesus. I have come to realize that for the most part people are the same because they are looking for someone to believe in them and someone to believe in. Seeing people at h.o.p.e. we find that people are looking for others to love them as they are. Example: The other day I met with a lady about helping keep their power from being turned off by paying $100. Then I asked her about her walk with Christ and she looked at me with tears in her eyes and she said, “you are first person to ask me about that.” Her power was important but where she was spending eternity was the most important thing to me. She was saved but was
