SENIOR OFFICER, GIFTS & DONOR RELATIONS (Fulltime) Calgary Foundation Since 1955, Calgary Foundation has been nurturing a healthy, vibrant, giving and caring community that values diversity and supports all people. A community where citizens are engaged, and where a strong and sustainable charitable sector serves the current and emerging needs of the community. In 2015-16, the Calgary Foundation saw $38.3 million in new contributions, had an asset base of $822.7million and granted $45.9 million to over 850 charitable organizations. The Opportunity Reporting to the Vice President, Donor Engagement, the Senior Officer, Gifts & Donor Relations, role will serve as a contact for existing and new donors and their families seeking information on the variety and complexity of charitable gifting options available both during lifetime as well as through testamentary gift planning. A key focus is to understand the donor family’s philanthropic expectations and implement a customized plan to manage these relationships, and where desired by the donors, to extend developmental support intergenerationally to their families. The role also requires an active working relationship with Professional Advisors in a variety of disciplines to enhance their knowledge of the Foundation’s services and structures in the charitable gift planning sector, with an ultimate goal to make The Calgary Foundation ‘top of mind’ for referral of clients and prospective donors. Other key responsibilities include: working closely with the Vice President, Donor Engagement to continually enhance the organization’s donor cultivation and stewardship strategies; supporting the Gift & Donor Relations Team in developing the Foundation’s strategic plans; and being actively engaged as an ambassador of the Foundation in philanthropic, business and community-based activities, events, fundraisers, and conferences. Qualifications  Communications, public relations, non-profit management, or business degree from an accredited post-secondary institution required.  A strong background in tax and estate planning would be considered an asset. Accreditation through CFRE, STEP, or CBA will be given preference.  Highly professional, natural relationship-builder with exceptional diplomacy, listening and negotiating skills, and the ability to build trust and elicit confidence.  Superior verbal and written communications skills are essential.  Proficiency in MS Office, and experience with CRM databases such as FIMS or Raiser’s Edge an asset. 1180, 1 05 12 Avenue SE Calgary, Alberta T2G 1A1 I 403-802-7700 I calgaryfoundation.org
