2nd October 2017 Dear Parents/Carers and students, Year 11 mock exams are taking place from Monday 13/11/17 to Friday 24/11/17 inclusive. An examination timetable is included on the back of this letter. Exams start at 9.00am each day so your son/daughter should be in school for normal registration time. There are three exams timetabled for each day but as some of these involve option subjects, not all of the students will be involved. Therefore at times when students are not timetabled to take an exam, they will remain in normal lessons. Students required for an afternoon exam should be in the appropriate exam room for 1.45 pm (unless an earlier start is indicated on the timetable in which case the students will take an early lunch) in order that the examinations can start on time and not run on past 2.50pm. Any clashes between examinations have been noted and arrangements will be in place to allow students to sit one of the exams at an alternative time. A short break will be allowed between the two morning exam sessions when students will be able to take refreshments and go to the toilet. Normal lunchtime arrangements will apply during the week unless otherwise informed. Students will be required to wear full school uniform for the duration of the exams Please ensure that your son/daughter is fully prepared for every examination. They should have at least two black pens, a pencil, ruler and a calculator for mathematics and science exams. These should only be held within a clear pencil case or bag. If students take a bottle of water into the exam room, all labels must be removed from the bottle first. New examination rules this year mean that students will be required to remove wrist watches and place them on the desk in front of them. Strict examination rules will be enforced throughout these exams and any student who fails to abide by these may well not be entered for the GCSE examinations in summer. The school timetable will return to normal on Monday 27th November 2017. Yours sincerely Mrs. G Rule Examinations Officer
