Dear Parents / Carers As we approach the summer holidays I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both to your child and to the school and for your continued support. The positivity and support we receive from across the school community is essential to our on-going commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all our students. Staff News At the end of the term we will be bidding farewell to two members of staff who have announced their retirement after many years loyal and dedicated service to the school: Mrs Karen Pascoe and Mrs Jayne Harrison will be retiring after over 20 years of distinguished service. We wish them well! Exam Results 2016 We look forward to our Year 11, 12 and 13 students receiving a good set of results and wish them every success in their future career path. We look forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students back in September following their choice to continue their studies with us in our Sixth Form. AS | A LEVEL RESULTS ARE RELEASED ON THURSDAY 18th AUGUST 2016 IN THE MAIN HALL (YEAR 13: 8am | YEAR 12: 10am) GCSE RESULTS ARE RELEASED ON THURSDAY 25th AUGUST 2016 IN THE MAIN HALL (YEAR 11: 8.30am | OTHER YEARS: 10am)

Last Day of Term Students will be dismissed at the slightly earlier time of 1.30pm on the last day of term – Thursday 21st July 2016. School buses have been arranged to run at this revised time. Community assemblies will take place to celebrate our achievements. Summer Holiday Office Cover The school office will be open from 9am to 4pm daily during the holiday period. Future Dates Students will return to school on Monday 5th September 2016. We have five scheduled in-service training (INSET) days throughout the year when students will not be in school. For 2016|2017 they are: 1st September; 2nd September; 3rd January; 24th April and 5th June. We will be holding three open school events during the Autumn Term – an Open Evening on Wednesday 14th September from 5.30pm – 8.30pm and two Open Mornings – Wednesday 28th September and Tuesday 11th October from 9.00am – 10.30am – when current and prospective parents can see the school at work. Please do publicise these events to your friends and neighbours. On a final note I would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to seeing you at an event in school in the near future. Yours sincerely
