o Give parents data on kids on what they are doing and why it is important. o Tell parents what we are doing in training and what to look for in games and practice sessions. For the Recreational Program. o We will offer services and talk to communities about their needs. o We need to get the word out to the communities to get more involvement because in reality not many show up for clinics or informational meetings. Fall season Recap. o We need to put in place a feedback system for the communities. o There also needs to be a strong set up of policies and procedures in place to help with issues and concerns. New US Mandates o There are new age rule changes going into effect. o The club is looking at rearranging and what that impact. o Staff is still researching how the club is going to deal with these changes and what will be involved with placement of kids. Staff Reviews o There needs to be a standard evaluation tool to review staff members Chris, Josh & Randy. o Board will assign the roles of the staff during this time.
Complex Review (Open): The main purpose of discussion, Hawkeye Community College is looking to use the complex for their new men’s & women’s soccer teams which would mean much more use of the fields. o This could only be a short term relationship so there should be care when setting up arrangement. o Also this would be a good time to look at the agreement that we have with UNI. Some repair work/new equipment purchases that we will have to look at in the near future. o There is need for a new mower and a Z-Track mower. o Parking lot needs repairs, some fields need re-tiling, and the concession stand. Board priorities for the repairs 1. Parking Lot 2. Lampride Mower 3. Z-Track small mower o Ideas for funding these projects. We should look at applying for McElroy Grant for funds. Another option would be to involve John Deere Foundation. Black Hawk Gaming Funds Raising funds through the website. Bricks @ the complex

Sponsorships with stage at the complex. Food vendors for tournaments Expanding indoor league
Financial Update (Kristi Wagner): There was a change in registration that passed a fee onto the parents that the club used to pay that resulted in saving the club some money. Also, due to the HCC requesting the use of complex rental earning could increase next year. Specific line item budget topics. o Registration 2014 indoor from 2 years in on one calendar year. o There is an expense of 2 years’ worth of player medals, so that could help save in the future. o Academy and Dynos need a greater emphasis based on the registration figures. Income/Sales Numbers o The figures are of gross income from concessions. o Soccer.com sells CVSC gear, but we need to explore whether we get a kick-back from them or if customers have to go through the CVSC website to get the kick-back. o The Rec program had a big increase in numbers from the previous year. Funding capital expenses o May have to come from the money market account, but we do have the dollars to fund them now with money on hand. o Will still need to work on sponsors for Cup and MoonLight tournaments to help continue with capital improvements. Kristie Wagner made a motion to approve the 2014 form 990 Exempt Organization Business income tax return o 2nd Jason Koch o 7 – Aye 0 – Nay o 2 - Absent The meeting was adjourned at: 9:13 pm Edward Stoffer, Secretary, Cedar Valley Soccer Club
