12-1/2”x12-1/2” Finished Cutting Directions for 1 Block





From Background Fabric Cut: - (4) 3-1/2”x3-1/2” Squares (A) - (2) 4”x4” (B) - (2) 4-1/2”x4-1/2” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally both directions to make a total of (8) Quarter Square triangles (C) From Brown Fabric Cut: - (1) 4”x4” Squares (D)

From Gold Fabric Cut: - (1) 4”x4” Square (E) From Green Fabric Cut: - (4) 4”x4” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (8) Half Square Triangle (F) From Red Fabric Cut: - (4) 2-5/8”x2-5/8” Squares (G)

Corner Blocks 

Mark a diagonal line on the backside of the (2) Background “B” Squares



Layer (1) Background “B” Square on top of (1) Brown “D” Square



Sew 1/4” seam on both sides of the drawn line



Cut in half on the diagonal line. Press towards the Brown Triangle. Blocks should measure 3-1/2”x3-1/2”.



This will yield (2) Brown Half Square Triangle Blocks (HST)



Repeat previous (4) Steps to with (1) Background “B” Square and (1) Gold “E” Square. For a total of (4) HST blocks (2) Brown and (2) Gold



Layout the (4) HST blocks as shown.



Sew blocks together into rows. Pressing seams open.



Sew rows together to make (1) Star Center. Block should measure 6-1/2”x6-1/2”

Star Point Blocks 

Layout (1) Red Square “G”, (2) Background “C” Quarter Square Triangles, & (2) Green “F” Triangles as shown.



Sew (1) “C” Triangle to the right side of the “G” Square. Press towards the “C” Triangle



Sew (1) “C” Triangle to the left side of the “G” Square. Press towards the “C’ Triangle



Sew (1) “F” Triangle to the right side of the “GC” Triangle. Press towards the “F” Triangle



Sew (1) “F” Triangle to the left side of the “GC” Triangle. Press towards the “F” Triangle. Block should measure 3-1/2”x6-1/2”



Repeat previous (5) Steps to make a total of (4) Star Point Blocks.

Assembling the Block 

Layout (4) Corner Blocks, (4) Star Point Blocks and (1) Star Center as shown.



Sew Block into rows, pressing in the direction of the arrows.



Sew Rows together, pressing in the direction of the arrows. Block should measure 12-1/2”x12-1/2”
