From Background Fabric Cut: - (4) 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” Square (A) - (4) 3-1/2” x 6-1/2” Rectangles (B) - (2) 3-7/8” x 3-7/8” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (4) Half Square Triangles (C) - (1) 4-1/4” x 4-1/4” Square. Cut square in half diagonally both directions to make a total of (4) Quarter Square Triangles. (D)
From Green Fabric Cut: - (8) 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” Square (E) From Red Fabric Cut: - (1) 4-1/4” x 4-1/4” Square. Cut square in half diagonally both directions to make a total of (4) Quarter Square Triangles. (F)
Pinwheel Block
Layout (1) Background “C” triangle, (1) Background “D” Triangle, and (1) Red “F” triangle as shown.

Sew (1) Background “D” triangle to (1) Red “F” triangle with a scant 1/4”seam. Press towards the Red Triangle.
Sew the “D/F” triangle to (1) Background “C” triangle. Press towards the Background triangle. Block should measure 3-1/2” x 3-1/2”
Repeat previous (3) steps to make a total of (4) Pinwheel Blocks.
Flying Geese Units
Mark a diagonal line on the backside of the (8) Green “E” Squares like shown.
Layer a Green “E” Square on top of (1) Background “B” Rectangle (left side) as shown.
Sew on the drawn line. Cut 1/4” away from the sewn line. Press towards the Green Triangle.
Layer a Green “E” Square on top of the Background “B” Rectangle (right side) as shown.
Sew on the drawn line. Cut 1/4” away from the sewn line. Press towards the Green Triangle.
Block should measure 3-1/2”x6-1/2”

Sew blocks into rows. Press in the direction of the arrow.
Sew rows together to make (1) large pinwheel. Press in the direction of the arrow. Block should measure 6-1/2” x 6-1/2”
Layout (4) Background “A” Squares, (4) Flying Geese Blocks, and (1) Large pinwheel block as shown.
Sew blocks together into row. Press in the direction of the arrows.
Sew rows together to create the center to block. Press in the direction of the arrows. Block should measure 12-1/2” x 12-1/2” Square
