Camp Instruction

Camp Staff

Campers will spend each day of camp learning to play baseball the "Comet way" while receiving instruction in the following areas:

Todd Hutchinson Coach Hutchinson is in his 23rd year as the varsity Comets head coach. Comet teams have won over 500 games and captured 14 conference titles, 11 regional titles, three sectional titles, and one 3rd place finish in the state finals under his leadership.

Camp Goals Each camper will: receive instruction in the fundamentals of pitching, catching, infield play, outfield play, hitting, bunting, baserunning, and sliding

Camp Requirements •

All campers are to return a signed statement from their parents stating that they are physically fit for playing baseball and releasing camp instructors from any and all liability



Baseball shoes, pants (or sweatpants), shirt, hat, glove & protective cup

We recommend that shorts NOT be worn to camp

become familiar with strength and conditioning techniques that will increase performance

Camp Costs Camp Fee $50.00 fee includes: tuition and camp t-shirt Family Discount Rate - $40.00 each brother

Water Water and ample water breaks will be provided, but campers are also welcome to bring a water bottle.

Paul Younker Coach Younker is in his 22nd year as an assistant coach at Greenville High School. Over the last 20+ years he has also assisted with the Senators Jr. Legion summer teams. Coach Younker has over 30 years of coaching experience in Greenville baseball at every level from T-ball to high school. Mark Jurgena Coach Jurgena is in his 14th year as head coach of the Jr. Varsity baseball Comets and his 22nd year as a coach in the Comets Baseball program. A former Comet and GHS graduate, he received a baseball scholarship from Parkland Junior College. He also is an assistant with the Senators summer team. Joe Alstat Coach Alstat is in his 17th year as a Comets baseball assistant coach. He was also the head coach of the Greenville Jr. High Bluejays for 7 years. Bluejays teams won 5 regional titles, 2 sectional titles and made 2 appearances in the IESA state finals under his leadership.

Camp Assistants The camp coaching staff will be assisted by several former and current members of the Comets and Senators, many of whom are former Comet Baseball Campers.
