Market Theme Wall Street inched forward on Monday as technology stocks surged and investors remained on edge over political uncertainty in the U.S. and Germany. Asian shares posted steady gains on Tuesday as Wall Street provided a solid lead on growing hopes for tax cuts in the U.S.
Chart of the Day Foreign investors are returning to South Africa’s stock market at the fastest pace in more than two years. Average daily inflows over the past month climbed to 550 million rand ($39 million), the most since June 2015 and a turnaround from daily outflows of 677 million rand in the preceding 30-day period, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Selling of stocks dependent on a stagnant local economy has left them cheap for foreign investors, according to Shaun le Roux, a portfolio manager at PSG Asset Management.
