Consultations There are currently 2 consultations live. They are: • Ponders End (closes 7th September) - http://cycleenfield.co.uk/major-projects/pondersend/ • A1010 North scheme (closes 23rd September) - http://cycleenfield.co.uk/majorprojects/a1010-north-scheme-consultation/ As usual a guide to completing the consultations is available on http://enfieldcc.co.uk. Please take the time to complete the consultations and support the ongoing Cycle Enfield improvements throughout the borough. These schemes will not proceed without your continuing support.
Ride London FreeCycle This years Prudential Ride London FreeCycle took place on Saturday 30th July. Enfield Cycle Campaign organised a feeder ride form Edmonton Green via the Lea Valley. There was also an additional group ride from Palmers Green for those in the South of the borough to join the Haringey feeder ride from Wood Green. The annual FreeCycle event is a brilliant chance for people of all abilities including families to cycle round some of the iconic places in London on 10 miles of traffic free roads. There are also several festival zones with cycling related activities, stalls and displays. If you did not get the chance to go this year or want to do it again, an important date for your diary is next years FreeCycle on Saturday 29th July 2017.
Palmers Green Festival - ECC / Better Streets for Enfield stall The annual Palmers Green Festival will be held in Broomfield Park on 4th September from 12-7pm. Better Streets for Enfield (the local campaign group) will be running a stall in conjunction with E n fi e l d C y c l e Campaign. There will also be a CycleEnfiled stall and a try a bike area to try many unusual bikes including family friendly cargo bikes. There have been a series of recent car accidents in Palmers Green including a hit and run involving a small child and serious crash on Alderman’s Hill. These continuing incidents show why we need to make Enfield a safer place for both walking and cycling. Please come along and visit us. Other Borough News • Furs Farm Festival - The first Furs Farm summer festival was held on the 16th July. Edmonton Cycle club ran a Dr Bike stall in conjunction with Enfield Cycle Campaign . • Green Lanes A105 scheme - The council have now published their revised plans for Green Lanes cycle scheme after examining the responses from the public consultation. Key Dates There are not many key dates at the moment. Please check our website or twitter for future key dates and further information. • Cycle to Work day https://www.cycletoworkday.org On Wednesday 14th September it will be cycle to work day. Its a great chance to pledge to cycle to work if you don't usually.
