Thank you to all of the parents who have ensured that their children have been on time for learning this week. There has been a definite improvement. Next week there will be a National emphasis on Internet Safety. This was previously called e-safety and is now called online safety. It is essential that our children are safe online and develop safe practices. All classes will be taking part in age appropriate online safety activities next week. This would also be a good time to speak with your child about how to stay safe online. Wishing you a safe weekend. Bernie Garvey Premises Manager We are delighted to welcome Mr Sangster, our new Premises Manager, who will start work next Monday. We hope he will be very happy in the Culvers Community. Collecting children at the end of the day The safety of all of the children is our most important concern and with this in mind we are checking the class collection lists. If you allow someone other than yourself to collect your child at the end of the school day, their name must appear on the class collection list. Staff will not hand over any child to an adult whose name is not on the list. If you wish to add or remove an adult from the class collection list, please visit the school office or drop off a letter to the school office explaining the changes. Teaching and support staff will no longer add or delete names themselves. Thank you for your co-operation with this matter.

KS2 Choir Please remember that KS2 Choir practice every Wednesday before school at 8.00 am in the hall – entrance is via the door by the kitchen.

Medicine in School We understand that this time of year sees many of us suffering from various illnesses (staff and children alike!), but we do encourage children to attend school if it is a minor ailment that they do not need to stay at home for. If your child is well enough to come to school, but may need a dose of Calpol or cough mixture during the day, please bring the medication to the school office and sign a parental permission slip for office staff to administer the medicine. Please rest assured that we will phone parents if we feel that a child is too unwell to stay at school. Please note that any child who has vomited or had an upset stomach must stay at home for 48 hours from the last time they were sick or had diarrhoea. If you have any questions about administering medicine in school, please ask at the school office. Thank you for your co-operation.

If any parents are interested in joining the PTA, or helping out at any PTA events, please leave your details with the school office and a member of the PTA will contact you. PTA Coffee Mornings - These take place every Friday between 9.00 am – 11.00 am in the Community Room – everyone is welcome!

Letters Letters have gone out this week about: Teacher in Oxford University, Year 6 booster sessions (Mr Taylor’s group), Year 4 sponsored walk, PGL in November 2016. Please be sure to look out for letters each day and do ask your child’s teacher or at the school office if you think you may have missed anything.
