Sports News Culvers House attended the Crystal Palace football tournament at Carshalton Boys this week. The team played outstanding football with Brooke scoring our first goal. Mushull displayed fantastic skill scoring an over head kick in the left hand corner!! Joshua made many fantastic saves and showed what a great goal keeper he is. I was very impressed with Harry Richardson who showed excellent discipline playing in defence making many great tackles! All the players worked well as a team and we finished third place overall. Well done to Brooke, Mushull, Mark, Jack W, Harry G, Harry R, Venoth and Joshua. A big congratulations to Mark who was scouted by a Crystal Palace coach during this competition and has been invited to trial for Crystal Palace. Well done Mark! Also a big well done to Amy Hawkins in year 1 who has achieved her stage 1 certificate in swimming. Also Alex Hawes who has achieved his silver award in swimming. Well done on these achievements! Harry Gardner receives his sports ambassador badge for representing our school 5 times. Well done Harry and well deserved! Jo Wardlaw We are really pleased that Culvers Little House has just had an inspection from the local authority early years team, who say that we have an excellent two year old provision at our school.Well done to all the staff who have worked very hard to get our provision up and running so quickly, and to such a high standard!
Children return to school on Monday 23rd February after the half-term holiday. A big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported our Year 4 children with their sponsored walk, to raise money towards their trip to Charlie & the Chocolate Factory in July – we have raised just under £1,000!
Polite request – please ensure that everyone coming to, and leaving school, is considerate to the residents in the local streets, and that children do not go into any gardens or damage any vehicles. Thank you.
Science Trail A huge thank you and well done to everyone who attended our first ever Science Trail on Monday! Those of you who came and supported the event had the opportunity to engage in a range of hands- on science activities, including: making bubbles; separating oil and water; dissolving solids in liquids; investigating food chains, classifying materials; doing virtual experiments; making electric circuits and investigating forces, magnets, floating and sinking. It was clear from the buzz around the school that science is something our children really enjoy taking part in and it was fantastic to see so many parents getting involved too. I hope you all enjoyed the event! During today's celebration assembly, all those children who came to the Science Trail were entered into a raffle and 10 winners were chosen at random. The winners, who each received an exciting prize, were: Maisie in London University, Aiden in Madrid University, Aaishani in Pisa University, Joshua in Manchester University, Abizaik in Winchester University, Kit-Kit in Cambridge University, Aneya in Cambridge University, Kaine in Oxford University, Ijaz in Stanford University and Venoth in Sydney University.
