Here’s a taste of this season’s roster. Aren’t they fabulous? Discover the great classes offered.

Dina’s Cozy Cabin Quilts Class Information  Online & Phone enrollment is accepted with credit or debit card.  Class fee is due at time of registration. Without payment, your name will be placed on the waiting list  Supply list available upon payment of class fee. It can be faxed, emailed or mailed.  Class supplies are 15% off. Please let the cashier know you are purchasing for a class.  Please purchase your supplies prior to class day. We cannot guarantee we will have the supplies in stock on the day of class.  If you need something ask. We can hold or order it for you. It takes 2 weeks for orders to ship to Alaska. Please plan accordingly.  All cancellations must be made at least 10 days in advance. No refund or transfers will be given for late cancellations, or “no shows.”  If class registration is below our minimum of 2, we will make every effort to fill the class. If the class must be cancelled, we will notify you 5 days in advance and refund your fee  We will give you a reminder call about your upcoming class.  Please be on time and bring all of your supplies. In consideration of the instructor and your fellow students, please do not bring children, pets, or cell phones to class.  Purchases on the day(s) of your class are 15% off.

Dina’s Cozy Cabin Class Credit Card: Buy 5 classes and get credit for your 6th We add up the class fees paid and divide by 5 for your credit.

What to bring to class…  

Your excitement and enthusiasm! Please review your supply list for each class and bring all of the requested items, plus the following: o Sewing Supplies: needles, thread, seam ripper, scissors for fabric and paper, extra full bobbins, your sewing machine (optional) o Quilting Supplies: rotary cutter, mat, ruler(s), notebooks, pencil, glue stick, marking pencils (you do not need to bring your large mats as the classroom has 2 and its better for those large mats to stay at home).  Lunch or Snack: Microwave and refrigerator available. Or, several good restaurants are close at hand. We also have vending machines! Know how to operate your sewing machine and bring your owner manual.

Events at Dina’s Cozy Cabin Quilts Strip Club Teacher: Dina Pappas Join us and see what the fuss is with stripping! Learn tips, get ideas, find out about tools. Each month we feature a new Strip Club pattern designed to use 2 ½" strips. Each month it is something different and each month we offer a class following Strip Club on the featured project. We’ll give you a presentation, a pattern, a little inspiration and a good time! No need to RSVP. Just come as you are! And remember to put "STRIP CLUB" on your calendar. Dare them to ask you about it!

Cozy Cabin Quilt Social Teacher: Arteria McCummings

The traditional quilting bee (a gathering of friends and neighbors who come together to work on creating a quilt) is the inspiration for the modern quilt social. The Cozy Cabin Quilt Social is a special time for you to gather with others who enjoy the craft of quilting. Start something new or finish some of those UFO’s (unfinished projects) you have stashed away. Come socialize, share your creativity (show and tell) or receive assistance from friends. Bring a snack to share with the group.

Quilts of Valor Sewing Quilts of Valor are quilts made to honor & comfort the wounded. One of our projects is to take blocks from a Moda block challenge and create quilts with them. We look forward to seeing all the quilts from those blocks. Another way to serve is to work on your own projects. We donate our quilts both locally and to Alaskans who are stationed away from home. Check our the Quilts of Valor Foundation website at www.qovf.org for more information.

Learn the basics of

how to load your quilt and all the fun options that are available to quilt your top with a longarm quilting machine. This class allows you to rent a longarm machine Stipple Yourself and substitutes for the required class at Stipple Yourself. Fee: $25 per session

This charming sampler quilt is ideal for beginner quilters. You will develop your basic quilt making skills (rotary cutting, sewing accurate ¼” seams, and pressing). You'll learn how to choose fabric and piece quilt blocks using half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles and flying geese units. You'll create a quilt top that has sashing with corner stones and borders. We will wrap up with an introduction to finishing techniques. Fee: $60

Super Stars is a simple quilt with dazzling eye appeal. Highlight your favorite large-scale fabric in the center of four giant star blocks. We will practice safe rotary cutting techniques, piece half-square triangles, and construct extra-large saw tooth blocks. A fun supersized star quilt, perfect project to show case novelty prints. (10 years old and up)

Get a jump on fall with these easy leaf placemats. The stem folds over for a built in napkin holder. Mix and match colors or make them all the same.

4:00-8:00 Binding Teacher: Geri Wacker #7417 I am going to teach the binding method that is presented in most books and magazines. I will show you how to totally machine stitch the binding and also, how to machine stitch the binding in prep for hand finishing. Bring your quilted but unbound quilt to class and we’ll get it bound.

This is a great looking table runner which is sewn with a "quilt as you go" method, so after piecing the quilt there is only binding and you are done. You can make one in spring colors for your Easter table.

Classic Pineapple Quilt Teacher: Arteria McCummings

Broaden your approach to quilting with this stunning quilt made with paper piecing. We will build basic Pineapple blocks by working from the center out adding strips around a center square in rounds. In addition to the classic pinapple block, we will paper piece flying geese units to add interest to the borders. A great stash buster, just select two or three contrasting fabrics or go the scrappy route to create a striking quilt.

Half-aquare triangles are one the most commonly used patchwork component in quilting. This fun quilt uses the samdwich method to create quick and easy half-square triangels. "Half" the fun of making this quilt is the many options when it comes to layout. Somply vary the orientation of light and dark of each block to create different design options. Raid your stash selecting two color families to make a scraptastic masterpiece.

This is the bag I take to all of my sewing functions because it holds my 18” x 24” cutting mat, rulers, bundles of fabric, unfinished projects and my tool caddy. It has plenty of pockets, a water bottle holder, thread holder and key or scissor clip. The pattern includes a smaller size that holds a 12” x 18” mat. Fee: $40

Twist & Shout Teacher: Geri Wacker This is an easy quilt consisting of Forty Two 10 inch (unfinished) blocks with a narrow and wide border. This pattern uses one Bali Pop Pack (2 ½ inch strips) plus two extra strips. Or, you can choose another pack brand that contains Forty Two 2 1/2 inch strips. You will also use an accent fabric in your blocks. This pattern is not designed for Fat Quarters.

Wonderfully Wonky Teacher: Arteria McCummings

For years, "wonky" was the worst thing your quilt could be. Now this modern setting is a delightful alternative to showcase pieced blocks or your favorite fabrics. I you are like me, you probably have some orphan blocks hanging around. Give these blocks new life in this Wonderfully Wonky quilt. This quilt is also great for panel blocks and embroidered squares. A super fun project for the confident beginner.
