The king’s name was Nebuchadnezzar. The king made an idol. The king told the people to bow down to the idol. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew this would make God sad. The friends did not bow down to the idol. The king got angry. Soldiers tied up the friends. They put the friends in a hot fire.

Do you think Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were afraid when they were put into the fire? God was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. God took care of them. They did not get hurt in the fire. The king looked in the fire at the friends. The king was surprised. The friends were not burnt. The friends were walking. There should have been three men in the fire. The king saw four men in the fire! The king was amazed! He told Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to come out of the fire. The king made the friends important men in his kingdom.
