Leadership God has called you to be a leader. What does it mean to lead? One simple definition is to guide or direct others. Do you know you may be leading and not even know you are? We live with other people all around us. The way you live your life is having an influence. It may be a good thing, or it may be bad. When someone is cranky, selfish, or lazy those around him may begin to act the same way. The opposite can be true. If someone makes good choices, others may follow. Being the leader God has called you to be doesn’t mean you will stand in front of large crowds or lead huge numbers. It may be influencing your friends and family. To be a great leader, you need to recognize your behavior matters. When you are seen making bad choices, it can cause others to do the same. Some people will see what you have done and not trust you in the future. We need to make good choices most importantly because we love God and want to live to minister to His heart. However, we also need to know we are being seen by other people. It is His desire that we minister to them too. Good leaders put others above themselves. They care about the people around them. They do their part of the work and take responsibility with a cheerful attitude. God can use them to do awesome things, because they are willing to trust and obey Him instead of being afraid, selfish, or lazy. A good leader walks in righteousness, because he wants to be a blessing to those around him. Peer pressure is when you are pushed to do something, because the people around you are doing it. It is important for you to not give in to doing wrong things because your friends are. Instead, be a great leader. Do what is right in front of them, and pray it will lead them to do the right thing too. The most important part of leading others is having a good leader yourself. To make good choices, you have to know how. Looking to God to know how to live well is very important. Reading His word and asking Him what to do will help you know how to live. Listening to others who know Him well can help. You must grow to look more like Him, so when you lead others you are leading them to Him also.
