2015 WILDCAT FOOTBALL SUMMER CAMP A three-day-per-week summer camp, designed to increase athletic performance and decrease injury potential. The goal is to teach Arvada West football fundamentals, techniques and schemes so we play contact football effectively and safely. The team will begin with weight training and conditioning, then progress into full contact practices. Before the season begins, we will go up against some other high schools in the area and participate in multiple football clinics & camps.

PARTICIPANTS Camp is available to any football athlete entering grades 9–12 in the Fall of 2015 at Arvada West High School.
EQUIPMENT Campers will be provided a t-shirt and shorts for performance training and field work. Football equipment will be checked out to athletes as they participate in the mini-camp and 7-on-7 activities.
REGISTRATION Please complete the form below, attach $250.00 (make checks payable to Cats Claw), and deliver to Arvada West weight room or mail to the address below on or before June 1st. 2015 WILDCAT SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE PERFORMANCE TRAINING/FIELD WORK
UNC DAY CAMP
Date: June 1st–August 5th Monday/Wednesday/Friday’s Grades: 9–12 Time: 8:00 am –11:45 am, M-W-F Location: A-West High School
Date: June 22nd Grades 9–12 Time: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Location: A-West High School
**No performance training during Mini Camp and or UNC Camp
During this time, we will do 1.5 hours sports specific weight training and 1.5 hours field work: Speed work, Plyometric training and conditioning. We will also do 45 minutes of football drills.
MINI-CAMP Date: June 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 Grades: 9–12 Time: 8:00 am - 10:30 am Location: A-West High School 10 day camp, our regular practice schedule. Individual position-specific drills, 7-on-7 pass drill, inside run drill, team Offense vs team Defense. After the 4th day we will be in full pads and will have full contact. The last day we will have a full-contact, inter-squad scrimmage.
7-ON-7 TOURNAMENT Date: July 25th Grades: 10–12 Time: 9:00 am – 2:30pm Location: Standley Lake High School This is an all-day tournament where we will compete against other high schools in a 7-on-7 competition. We will get 5 to 6 games that day, and will provide food and drink for the athletes. For protection, we are only allowed to wear helmets. This is not a full contact tournament.
We are bringing in 5 Division 1 college coaches to work various position-specific drills with Arvada West football players. The coaches will be assisted by the Arvada West high school coaches. __________________________________________
TACKLING ACADEMY CAMP Date: July 7th–9th Grades 9–12 Dates: July 7th, 1:00pm–2:30pm July 8th, 10:00am–11:30am July 9th, 9:00am–10:30am www.tacklingacademy.org We are bringing in a former college and NFL defensive coach who has dedicated his career to teaching proper tackling technique. He will guide Arvada West football coaches and players through the keys to proper body position, body control and footwork. His system lays the foundation to improve tackling acumen in any game situation.
