August 7, 2017 To: Athletic Directors and Head Softball Coaches From: Tim Thompson, JCPS Activities Director RE: 2017 Capital City Softball Tournament, September 8 & 9 INTRODUCTION: The 36th Annual Capital City Invitational will be played on September 8th-9th, 2017 in Jefferson City. Once again, this year our tournament will be at 63 Diamonds, located north of the river on the west side of US Highway 63. This year’s tournament features a strong field and sure to provide excellent competition. We will use all four fields for the entire tournament and hope to have each team play four games.
LOCATION/DIRECTIONS: 63 Diamonds 12301 Renz Farm Rd Jefferson City, MO 65101 (38.620969/-92.192486) From the North (US 63). Proceed South on US 63. Turn right off US 63 across from the SelectTurf barns. Turn right onto Renz Farm Rd. and proceed north to the 63 Diamonds. From the North/East (US 54). Proceed South/West on US 54. Take the Route W exit to the right. Turn left onto Renz Farm Rd. and proceed north 2 miles to the 63 Diamonds. From the South. Proceed East(North) on US Hwy 54. Go over the Missouri River Bridge. Take the Route W exit to the right. Turn left onto Renz Farm Rd. proceed north 2 miles to the 63 Diamonds. From the East. Proceed West on US Hwy 50. Take the US 63 North/US 54 East exit to the right. Proceed East(North) on US Hwy 54. Go over the Missouri River Bridge. Take the Route W exit to the right. Turn left onto Renz Farm Rd. and proceed north 2 miles to the 63 Diamonds. From the West. Proceed East on US Hwy 50. Take the US 63 North/US 54 exit to the right. Turn left onto the US 63 North/US 54 East ramp. Go over the Missouri River Bridge. Take the Route W exit to the right. CAPITAL CITY TOURNAMENT INFORMATION 1. Peak Sport and Spine will have a trainer available for all sessions. Please bring your own supplies with you for regular taping. Their supplies are for emergency/urgent use only. 2. Ice will be made available for any injury that may occur. 3. Water and ice will be provided in coolers in dugout for each game. 4. The 63 Diamonds will have a concession open during all contests. 5. Use of any tobacco products are expressly prohibited at any JCHS Athletic Event. The field areas, parking lots, and adjacent park areas are under the jurisdiction of the school for the duration of the tournament. 6. Consumption or possession of alcohol is expressly prohibited at any JCHS Athletic Event. The field areas, parking lots, and adjacent park areas are under the jurisdiction of the school for the duration of the tournament. 7. Fans determined to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs by JCPS personnel may be asked to leave the venue or removed. 8. Delays for weather related issues and schedule adjustments will be determined by the head umpire, tournament supervisor and athletic administrator. 9. Top of the bracket has the 1st-base dugout 10. Infield warm-up: 5 minutes, 1st Opening Round only. 11. Coin Flip will determine the home team. Home team is the official scorer. 12. Each game will have a 90-minute time limit, except the championship. Time starts with the coin flip. 13. Each team is to furnish 2 game balls per game. 14. Run Rules: 15 after 3 and 10 after 5. 15. International Tiebreaker will start after 7 innings or time limit, except the championship.
16. Field Umpire will stay to get the next game started.
