2017 Summer Cardinal Basketball Camps at Skagit Valley College

Over the past four seasons the SVC men’s basketball team has had three winning season including the first back-to-back winning seasons in the past 15 years. In that short time the Cardinals coaching staff has developed six All-Conference members, three All-Tournament members and three All-Defensive Team members. Coach Veltri and his staff work hard each day to improve their players overall offensive skill. You will learn many of the same techniques that Coach Veltri teaches his own players. Two separate weeks of day camp will be held at David Duvall Pavilion: June 19-22 and June 2629, 2017. The Cardinals staff has put together an outstanding day camp designed for boys entering second through eleventh grades. In addition to daily games and drills, you’ll learn:



Sound fundamentals of offense and defense



How to develop a self-confident and positive mental attitude



The importance of team play

You’ll receive focused individual instruction. In addition, all campers get a Cardinal T-shirt for participating.

Paul Hafford, a 2002 Lynden Christian graduate, played collegiately at Whitworth, North Idaho College and Portland State University. Following his college career, Hafford’s professional career spanned seven season overseas in Romania, Norway, China, and finally ending in Australia . He also played in the United States IBL during his off-seasons. He spent time during his IBL career in Central Oregon, Bellingham, and Vancouver.

Coach Veltri has directed and worked a number of basketball camps, including Phoenix Suns, University of Utah, University Wyoming, University of Richmond, Arizona State, Virginia Common Wealth, Seattle Pacific, Carroll College and Idaho State.

I certify that my child has had a physical exam in the last six months and that the results of the exam indicated that he is physically able to participate in the strenuous activity associated with a basketball camp. I agree that the participant and I assume the risk for all injuries which may result from participation in the camp. I further understand that both minor and catastrophic sports injuries may occur through no fault of the coaching staff and that my child is covered by health insurance to cover these injuries.

I will accept the financial and legal responsibility for any injuries that may result from camp activities. I hereby authorize Skagit Valley College as my agent to give consent to surgical and medical treatment for the participant when treatment is deemed necessary by the attending physician.

Coming from north or south on I-5, take the College Way Exit (#227) Turn east as you exit the interstate. Skagit Valley College is located 2 miles up College Way on the left. Park in front of the Cardinal Activity Center. The Pavilion sits directly behind it.
