Rock to Pier
A portion of the beach is home to the Snowy Plover, an endangered shorebird. As a result, no dogs will be allowed on the beach. In addition, participants and spectators are required to stay on the hard packed sand.

REGISTRATION PRE-REGISTRATION will be taken from May 1st through July 14th at the Morro Bay Recreation Office. MAIL-IN REGISTRATION deadline is Friday, July 7, 2017. Only checks will be accepted for mail-in registration, do not send cash. (If you mail in your registration and it is not received prior to packet pick-up, you will need to reregister. If your check is received in the mail after the event, we will return that check.) RACE DAY REGISTRATION will be taken from 6:30-8:15 AM at Morro Rock. Cash or checks only. ON-LINE REGISTRATION can be done at Runsignup.com from May 1st through July 13th at 5:00pm. Our event is listed at CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS will be accepted in person during the preregistration period or on-line only. Only checks and cash will be accepted during race-day registration. RACE PACKETS will be available at the Morro Bay Recreation and Parks Department on Friday, July 14 from 3:30–7:00 PM and on Saturday, July 15th from 6:30-8:15 AM at Morro Rock.
ABOUT THE RACE The race will begin promptly at 8:30 AM--low tide is a 0.8 at 9:49 am. This 6mile race is run entirely on the beach from Morro Rock to Cayucos Pier. As such, there will be debris and rocks on the beach. Shoes are strongly recommended. AGE GROUPS: There will be 14 age groups: 10U,11-14,15-18, 19-24, 2529, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79,80+. AWARDS: Overall winners will be announced at Morro Rock at 10:00 AM. Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each category. Age group winners may pick up their medals at the awards table beginning at 10:00 AM. BREAKFAST: Breakfast will be served at Morro Rock after the race. Transportation will be provided from Cayucos Pier back to Morro Rock.

RELEASE AGREEMENT: In consideration of the acceptance of my application for entry into the above event, I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury or property damage which I may have, or which hereafter accrue to me, against the City of Morro Bay as a result of my participation in the event. This release is intended to discharge the City of Morro Bay, its officers, officials, employees, agents and volunteers, any other involved municipalities or public agencies from and against any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in the event, even though that liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of persons or the City of Morro Bay mentioned above. I further understand that accidents and injuries can arise out of the event; knowing the risks, nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to release and to hold harmless all of the persons or agencies mentioned above who (though negligence or carelessness) might otherwise be liable to me (or my heirs or assigns) for damages. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assigns.
