Kicking Off a Great Week! READING/LA: Second Day, First Impressions Second Day, First Impressions can be found on pages 30 – 39 in the Reading Anthology. The genre is realistic fiction, the skill focus is problem and solution and context clues. Please review and practice the reading vocabulary words (below). QUIZ ON FRIDAY! The Greek and Latin roots are: pre meaning before and post meaning after. Please review your daily DOL from morning work, as questions like these will be on the DOL Quiz on Friday! WRITING: Daily Journals Each day, please remember to respond to the prompt in your writing journal. Remember that each response must be at least 6 sentences.

MATH: Topic 1: Place Value We will work daily on Karate Math and complete the daily math morning work. Don’t forget there will be a Morning Work Quiz each Friday. We will begin Topic 1: Place Value. Students need to know place value through the billions as well as three decimal places to the right; tenths, hundredths, and thousandths.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Native Peoples of North America We will begin learning about some important Native American tribes.

SPELLING: on Thursday! 
