Comprehensive Plan for Reducing Office Referrals in an Elementary School
Grant, New Faces & Goal • 2013-14 school year, Calhoun Primary School received the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Grant. • Provided funds for two additional counselors • Required we double the number of guidance lessons • Required we reduce office referrals by 5%

ASCA Model • You can easily spend 90% of your time serving 10% of our students and very little progress will be made. • If you serve 90% of the students 90% of the time you will have a significant impact on student achievement.
Calendar • Every Class, Every Other Week • 42 Classes, K-2, 970 students • Keys – Reviewed data to see where the needs were – Went to Sting Time to deliver to teachers first – Teachers were present for the lessons – Every grade level received a similar version of the lesson
