A Call to Prayer Tom and Michele April 14, 2017
Fruitfulness and Oppostion Pastor Rey's Update Thank you for praying for Rey. He was abducted on February 13th. The BBC has an update on the situation here. BBC Report He has been charged with evangelizing Mus1ims. At least this charge gives some proof to life as there is no other news.
Philippines Trip
Rey
Tom visited the Philippines from March 23 to April 2. It was a fruitful time with Daniel, his nephew, the Life Resources Foundation students, the Lanao Development Team, Perfectly Natural Herbs, and its customers and suppliers. He also had some fruitful times of preaching in MMKI churches. Praise the Lord that there were no problems to solve during the trip. Everything was running smoothly. Daniel had a great trip and is seeking the Lord's will for his future. Thank you so much for keeping him in prayer. The Maranao church is doing well on one hand, as it worships each Friday, and yet others are receiving pressure from family not to serve the Lord. Pray for Noraina who wants to attend the LRF in August. She was in tears on Tom's final morning in the Philippines as she related that some uncles are discouraging her from going to Bible school. Pray that she will persevere and follow the Lord. She is currently helping some of our Christar workers learn Maranao. Norjana
Baloi House
is also faithfully serving on our Lanao Development Team. A house
Reloading Norjana, Daniel & Noraina for her, Noel and Sha Sha, and Raymond and Ritchel is almost completed in Baloi. The team has a good opportunity to teach values in many parts of this city.
Oscar and Bebet are living in our home in Reloading. They have been faithful in spreading the gospel. Since Tom's last visit, their opportunities have grown. They are now teaching Bible studies 4 to 5 days a week. We praise the Lord the gospel is going forth there. This is a great comfort as we serve in our new Asian home.
Fruitfulness and Opposition in Asia Our English Club has grown to 16 students, with about 10 actually attending each week. Our evangelistic studies are consistent. Our discipleship of believers from the majority are going well, and new opportunities with refugees have come to us. Our schedule each day usually includes 3 to 5 appointments for outreach or discipleship. Yet, the government is cracking down on activities like ours. We have been warned to be careful. Pray for safety, wisdom, and power in ministry. Pray "let not man prevail against you!" (2 Chronicles 14:11).
USA Trip We will be visiting the USA from May 3 to June 2. We will be sharing in churches each weekend. The main purpose of the visit will be for Colin's graduation from Calvin College. We praise the Lord for this important milestone in his life. If anyone knows of a vehicle that we can use for the month of May let us know. We will be traveling to Kentucky, Michigan and Minnesota. Thanks so much. Love in Him, Tom and Michele
