“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Cor. 9:8 December 2016
4th QUARTER NEWSLETTER The Lord has certainly blessed us abundantly this last quarter. Several major events and many ministry opportunities have helped our church spread the Gospel. From Smoke Texas to our Christmas Eve service, this past quarter has seen many exciting blessings from God.
During this month, we also had some of our first responders visit our preschoolers which included Matt who is a policeman for the Sand Springs Police Department and Laurel Stacy, who is a doctor in Tulsa.
FAMILY MINISTRY Preschool- Our preschool and kids did great at the Christmas Eve Service. Thank you to Leslie McCoy, Anna Reichel, Jackie Brown, and Jocelyn Holden for helping the kids learn the songs! Each month our preschoolers are presented with a question. December’s key question was “Why is Jesus Special?” They
talked through the fact that Jesus is God’s Son. We are so thankful for our preschool mentors. In November, the key question was “Who are you Thankful for?” with the answer being, “I am thankful for people who help me.”
Children- Our children were treated to the Toy Box Drama during Share Christmas where the kids heard the greatest story of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection.
Also this quarter, our FoundationKids will complete the whole Bible (Genesis through Revelation) in January! Our teachers are fantastic and have done an awesome job. Our preschool and children's ministry teams gathered together for a year-end Christmas party with an ornament exchange. It was good for our mentors to gather together as we close out another semester.
StudentOur Student LifeGroup leaders celebrated the end of the semester with a Christmas Party. We are thankful for our Student Ministry Mentors who invest in our students on a weekly basis.
Our students attended the annual iGo Conference at Evergreen Baptist Church and were challenged with the theme of "Without Reserve". Many were challenged to be a missionary where they live and also have been called to Mexico, Gambia, Peru and Panama! Look for more information as to who is going and how to pray!
Our student leadership team finished strong after a semester of leading out in various areas in our church. They also spent time weekly in accountability groups talking through their quiet times. Family Ministry has certainly been blessed this quarter, and this year. We’ve watched God do amazing things in all of the areas, and we are so thankful we serve such an AWESOME GOD!
We had 16 LifeGroups that met over the last semester and were able to grow in numbers and in their relationships with one another. New people
were reached and we will have to expand two of those groups and will be starting two more groups in the springtime, bringing our total to 18 groups.
of those who go through it. Our hope is that some of this can be shared in a mission trip to Ghana in the summer of 2017.
Fred Esch has agreed to teach the Open Door Fellowship group for Senior Adults on Sunday morning and is doing a great job. Many of our LifeGroups have served together this semester at various places. One LifeGroup did some work at Dayspring Villa serving a meal to those women and children who have been victims of abusers. Another LifeGroup was able to serve the meal at ShareChristmas, while another decided to go caroling together during the Christmas season.
FPU completed another semester on Sunday mornings at FC with Scott and Bev Tilman leading it. Another semester will begin again in late January.
