Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) Community College Workforce Alliance is one of the nation’s premier community college workforce programs and is a partnership of two of the larger community colleges in Virginia. CCWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VDOT to transition training, assessment, certification and documentation of the training services to materials certifications and the highway construction inspector program from VDOT effective in January 2017. Come by the booth and discuss the plans for certifications programming. CCWA would love to meet any retiring experts who might be interested in joining the adjunct staff.

The Virginia Education Center for Asphalt Technology (VECAT) The Virginia Education Center for Asphalt Technology (VECAT) is a training program developed in partnership between VDOT, Virginia Asphalt Association and the Virginia Community College System led by Germanna Community College. VECAT is focused on three major areas of workforce development: VDOT Materials Certification (for Asphalt-related materials and processes), an Asphalt Technologist Apprenticeship Program and an Asphalt Technologist Associates Degree. Visit us to learn how VECAT will help Virginia to address critical shortages of employees in the asphalt and transportation/construction/maintenance industries, while providing valuable training and career development opportunities for individuals currently in this industry or looking to join it in the future.
