Application Guidelines Timing Over the Top: Pre plant up to the 8 corn leaf collars. Post Directed: Preplant up to 14 corn leaf collars. Treat actively growing weeds up to 4” high or 3” rosettes. (See label for Harvest Aid use directions) Nozzle Placement Position application nozzles a minimum of 18 inches above the crop so as to avoid excessive rates over the corn row or use drop nozzles. Adjust spray pattern for good weed coverage. Spray Drift Management section of label. Adjuvants – Nonionic or a Crop Oil Concentrate? Use 32oz NIS/100 gal for over-the-top applications. Use 1gal COC/100 gal for post directed applications. Under very dry conditions COC may improve control, but corn leaf specking my increase. Buffering Spray solutions should be within pH 5 to pH 8. Volume Ground: 10 gals/A minimum, 20-40 gals/A is optimum. Aerial: 3 gals/A minimum. Coverage is essential for adequate control. Rain fast Shark is rain fast within one hour of application. Tank mixing Completely mix Shark with fresh water in the tank first. Do not mix with products containing bromoxynil. Crop Response Shark EW’s mode of action is a PPO inhibitor, a cell membrane disrupter. Weeds desiccate within a few hours, necrosis and death occurs in 3 to 7 days. Cool, humid environmental conditions and certain tank mixes and additives, may cause some herbicidal symptoms such as leaf speckling to appear on the crop. Conditions encouraging fast drying generally reduce chances of crop speckling. Corn outgrows the symptoms with no yield impact.
