As we kickoff another season and ultimately set our sights on the 2017 College Cup, I want to thank you for your generous support in the past and the commitment that you have shown our Men’s Soccer program. None of our prior success would have been possible without the support of great fans and loyal alumni like yourself! To remain at the top, we need to continue to fundraise money outside of our program budget. Our raised funds enable us to travel the globe, find and recruit the best players, schedule the country’s best teams, play and train in world-class facilities and represent The University of Akron with class and pride. Your financial support enables us to travel anywhere in the world to find the right players to keep us at the top of the college game. Additional funding is also vital to our scheduling efforts and covers the travel costs for the best teams to come to Akron or for us to go on the road. Raised dollars also enable us to purchase tools for player development. Teams that we recruit and play against from power conferences all work with unlimited recruiting and operational budgets, which gives them an advantage we do not have. Our fundraising efforts are what keep us competitive and able to stay at the pinnacle of college soccer.
