Greetings! Dear Community Member: Alpha Omega Veterans Services cordially invites you to support our organization as a sponsor for the 10th iteration of our Annual Golf Classic fundraiser. The event will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Memphis National Golf Club in Collierville, Tennessee. All of the proceeds will provide support to disabled and displaced veterans within the Memphis community. Alpha Omega Veterans Services offers food, shelter, clothing, job placement, and counseling throughout the year that focuses on promoting veteran’s health, security, and happiness to reintegrate them back into society. Alpha Omega Veterans Services has been serving the Memphis community for over 27 years. Please consider partnering with us this year to aid in our efforts to provide high-quality programs to those who have sacrificed so much for us. THE AOVS GOLF CLASSIC – 18-hole scramble format played on the Legends Course at Memphis National Golf Club. About AOVS Alpha Omega Veterans Services is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee that assists military veterans to reintegrate into society, often after achieving recovery and rehabilitation from debilitating mental and physical conditions. Alpha Omega was established in 1987 by a Memphis mother of 2 sons who returned from the Vietnam War suffering from what we now call PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). After finding no help for her children, our founder started Alpha Omega as one of the first independent organizations in the United States that specialized in providing supportive services to military veterans. Initially serving 8 veterans, Alpha Omega now has the capacity to house over 100 veterans (male and female) and provide counseling services to many more. We have served nearly 10,000 veterans since those humble beginnings. Today, Alpha Omega operates six facilities that operate independently to meet the needs of our veteran clients: a drop-in/outreach center with 19 beds for transitional housing; an 8-bed hospice-palliative care facility known as the "Life House" that serves our medically fragile veterans; and four permanent/supportive housing facilities—a 32-unit apartment style complex, 8 townhouses, a 10-unit single room occupancy (SRO) facility designed for the chronically homeless and a 15-bed facility situated in a converted residence.
They Need Our Help As a good steward of limited resources, Alpha Omega has served and supported veterans for more than 27 years. Our clients who complete their programs achieve a near 90% success rate in rehabilitating their lives and rejoining society. With our programs filled to capacity, Alpha Omega must make difficult decisions and put those who ask for our help on a waiting list. We need your help so that we can expand our services to help more veterans overcome their barriers to independent living.
