1/2 cup robin eggs malt candies, plus some for topping 2 cup vanilla ice cream 1/2 – 1 cup milk whipping cream for top, cuz whats a milkshake without a mountain of whipped cream
Preparation: Place robins eggs candies, ice cream, and milk in a blender. Blitz, pulse and blend until creamy (but try not to demolish every robin egg – or throw a few in towards the end). Place a few robins eggs in a zip lock bag and beat with a rolling pin once or twice. Pour milkshake into an awesome glass, top with a mountain of whipped cream, and sprinkle some robin egg bits on top. Pop in an awesome swirly straw (or bendy if that is your preference) and enjoy!
Know the Word, Live the Word “ A friend loves at all times. He is there to help when troubles come”
This month we are learning that friendship is spending time with someone you trust and enjoy. Just as Jesus spent time with His friends so they could get to know Him better, we can build trust and have fun with our friends as we spend time with them. Read the following Scriptures and decide if they are talking about the need for friends to: 1.
Hebrews 10:25
2. Romans 14:13 A. Accept one another.
3. 1 Thessalonians 5:11a
B. Encourage one another.
4. Galatians 5:13b
C. Serve one another.
5.
D. Worship with one another.
6. Romans 15:7 7.
Colossians 3:16
Acts 9
If you are feeling inspired, use robins eggs of only one color so that your milkshake turns a pretty shade of pink, blue or yellow .
We have many friends and we can take them for granted, however, real friends are “Stuck Like Glue” and won’t let go when times get tough.
Think About It, Talk About It Real friends are “stuck like glue”. What does that mean? I think it is when you are having troubles, either at home, school or anywhere else, you know that you can share it with your friend. They can help you through it, they will listen. Sometimes it is just knowing that they care, they are praying, or just a hug. When I think about my best friends I think of hanging out with them, of the times we have encouraged each other. Our family is a family of runners. My nephew is 11 and a good runner. He could be one of the fastest on his team but because he feels bad for the slowest runners he stays back to run with them, and encourage them by saying things like “come you can do it, you are doing a great job.” Seems like he is “sticking like glue” when his friend is having trouble keeping up. Who doesn’t want a friend like that.! Another example: My sons are both on the track team, one is a star runner and the other is a great runner but not a star. At the first meet of the year, the star was running his last lap and in second place, he was passing up his brother and as he was doing this his brother started saying “come on you can beat him, you can do it, come on”, he even ran with him for a distance. The star picked up his pace, the crowd was cheering him on, he came in second place but only by one step. The star felt he had run a great race because his brother encouraged him when he was needing it the most. I don’t know about you but I need and want friends and family to come along beside me in this race called life, to run with , encourage, and challenge me. We also need to be that friend to others. Talk together as a family of ways that you can encourage each other. What about your friends? What does it mean to you to have someone “stick like glue”? How are you the same as your friends? How are you different?
Family Fun at Home Here are a couple of ideas to help you remember your friends and how much they mean to you.
Think about your favorite friend, what you like to do together, what you like about them, how you met. Once you have done that, take the time to write them a letter letting them know how much you appreciate them, what you like about them and remind them how you met, thank them for your friendship. My daughter’s friend did this for her and it made her so happy, we copied it and are going to frame it to put up in her room, maybe even put a picture of the two of them right beside it.
Make a collage of all your friends and put them up on your wall. Think about them and how you can encourage them, pray for them.
