HARRISBURG HAPPENINGS www.harrisburgumc.org

WOW! So much fun! Thank you to everyone who helped by baking. We had peanut butter eggs, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, a pistachio/cherry cake, peanut butter brownie, chocolate. pie , banana pudding, and much more. Thank you so much for baking! Final total $730 expenses $50 for start up change, profit $680. Kind Hands will divide the profits equally between the three mission projects: Lexi Cunningham, Kreutzer home for puppies, and Heifer International. We’ll let you know which animals we pick for Heifer International. With $226.67 we’ll be able to choose a number of small flocks of chicks, ducks, or three rabbits or we could choose a llama or a water buffalo. It should be a great discussion.

HUMC

Thank you again, and again. The girls worked hard and learned a great deal about planning an event, working together for a cause, and that giving brings us closer to the kind of world God created. 1

Swi$ Feet – A New Ministry for Boys

PROCTERS NEEDED PITTS SCHOOL ROAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (PSRES) is in the process of securing proctors for their upcoming end of grade testing.  As you know, this is a very important part of the school year.  They appreciate our partnership with HUMC and would really benefit from the support of HUMC members serving as proctor volunteers.  The biggest days of need will be May 30th and May 31st.  The only requirement of volunteers is that they are 18 years of age or older.  They will provide a light breakfast and brief training for volunteers the mornings of testing.  Volunteers should plan to be finished between 12:00pm-1:00pm.

We would like to invite all boys ages 1st grade through 5th grade and their parents to join us for an organizational meeting on April 22nd, at 3 pm. We will meet in the youth room. We are wanting to start a ministry similar to Kind Hands, based on service and spiritual growth, but programed more to boys and hand on activities. Some of the activities we are considering include learning how to use tools, simple things about cars, like changing tires and checking the oil, and learning skills that we could use in helping our community. We would meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 3 pm, the same schedule as Kind Hands. Come and hear our ideas and get involved in helping raise our boys to becoming young men in Christ!   Pastor Richard & Earl Gordon

UMYF - United Methodist Youth FUN! UMYF resumes April 8th at 5 pm! BUT,  on April 15th, we are doing a Scavenger Hunt and Cookout at Frank Lisk Park. We will meet at the church at 3:30 pm and will return by 6:30 pm. Please note the time changes!!! Bring a friend!!!

Pastries with the Pastors Sunday, April 15th, 9:45 am

HUMC

You’ve taken the first step by connecting with God in worship at Harrisburg UMC, now we want to help you take the next step. Join us at 9:45 am in the Fellowship Hall for Pastries with the Pastors, a time of fellowship and conversation with Pastors Toni Ruth and Wes. We want to hear your story and share a bit about the vision of the church and where you might find deeper connection with God and the community. We’ll be looking for you there! 2
