Message from the President Spring has sprung, April showers are here, Easter is on the horizon and Fiesta is upon us. April is a very busy month. In addition, it is also time for the National RIMS conference. This years’ conference is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our South Texas Chapter is shifting gears in a few ways. First we have secured the venue and date for our yearly Golf/Spa Event. This year, our annual fundraiser will take place on September 20 – 21, 2017 at the JW Marriot /TPC Resort. Second, we will be changing venues for our monthly luncheon meeting. The Petroleum Club of San Antonio will become our luncheon venue beginning with our May 17, 2017 luncheon. Save the dates and I hope to see all of you at our luncheon and at our annual fundraiser. Hope everyone had a Great Easter and Happy Fiesta to all our members! Chapter Business New Treasurer
The chapter treasurer, Franciso Benavides, has moved on to a new career. We would like to thank Franciso for time and service to the South Texas RIMS Chapter. Mike Gonzalez, from Zachry Corp., has volunteered to assume the Treasurer duties. The chapter Officers and Directors welcome Mike and look forward to working with Mike on all our endeavors.

Upcoming Risk Events in San Antonio
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will be holding two Workshops in the San Antonio area. The Credit Risk Workshop on May 23, 2017 is focused on credit risk within a loan portfolio. It will discuss trends and recognizing problems within the portfolio. The Operational Risk workshop on May 24, 2017 will focus on key components of operational risk-people, processes and systems. Governance, third-party risk, vendor management and cybersecurity will also be discussed. The workshops fee is $99.00 and open to directors of national community banks and federal savings associations supervised by the OCC. The workshops are limited to the first 35 registrants. Both workshops will be held at the Crowne Plaza San Antonio Airport and you may register for these at http://www.seiservices.com/occ or calling (240) 485-1700
