Assistant Director of Summer Programs The Madeira School is seeking an Assistant Director of Summer Programs. Reporting to the Director of Summer Programs, the Assistant Director of Summer Programs plays a vital role in the development, marketing, and implementation of the school’s summer residential and day camp programs. The Assistant Director serves as the camp director for the school’s flagship day camp. This position requires strong interpersonal and administrative skills. Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of the day camp program including activity offerings, hiring, staff training, budget, supervision of staff, day-to-day operation, and serving as the Camp Director during the summer • Manage summer riding program, working closely with the appropriate program directors to plan, design, and evaluate the program • Manage the configuration of the department’s database for camper registration; ensure proper testing protocol • Responsible for web content on Madeira’s summer programs web pages. Creates messaging and design for effective communication • Manage all transportation logistics; establish routes and coordinate drivers • Assist in creating marketing, and overseeing the entire summer school/camp operation including day camps, specialty, and residential programs; support online/social media marketing efforts • Work with internal departments such as Facilities to help prepare the school for summer camp • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring all summer programs staff. Work with Human Resources to post summer employment opportunities • Respond to phone calls and emails; communicate with parents and answer questions • Assists families with summer camp registration Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree required • Leadership experience in a camp setting preferred • Experience with school-aged children and young adults required • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work • Ability to work independently and perform with exceptional initiative and judgment • Strong marketing skills and customer-service orientation • Strong written and oral communication skills • Highly proficient in data management systems and computer applications (e.g., Word, particularly in Excel); willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed • Willingness and ability to work flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and select weekends Please submit your resume and cover letter to
