BBC Meeting Minutes June 9th, 2014 Attendance Tim Dahl, Joel Bjerke, Traci Pederson, Julie Willert, Jake Lindquist, Coach Guida, Brenda Dahl, Josh Ortmann, Brent Gohl, Brian Ewer Approval of May Minutes Traci Pederson made a motion to approve the May minutes; Brent Gohl seconded; motion carries.
Treasurer’s Report Julie Willert made a motion to approve the May treasurer’s report; Joel Bjerke seconded; motion carries.
Coach Guida’s Report Varsity is signed up for two Breakdown tournaments; St. Michael next week and the second one on 7/31. Summer camp started; 55-66 kids last week and today.
Old Business Update on Buffalo Days 3 on 3 – cancelled due to not enough teams. Will start working on next year’s after February tournament. Coaches’ committee update – tabled until July meeting. Update on volunteer checks – Tim is still working on one NSF check. Update on equipment/uniform return – everything is now returned. Update on uniform policy for 2014 – Joel will continue to work with Jason on samples. Update on tournament signs purchase – Jason working on quotes for feather signs. Survey results – Brent provided summary of results. o Coaches – more training, expectations, resources. Our work with coaches’ committee will help in addressing this category. o Tryouts – where kids are placed, process when kid misses tryouts o ‘Political’ input/venting o Communication – feedback among the teams, between board and parents o Input on program – feedback on positive work of board and how BBC is run compared to other organizations Page | 1
Tournament dates/flyers – November 22nd – 23rd is reserved through Community Ed. Feb 8th - Tim will connect with Sheila to confirm this date. Tryout dates – Sept 25th & 29th are available. 6:00-7:30 and 7:45 – 9:15. Tim will connect with Sheila to confirm times. Start advertising next month. Buffalo Tournament fee - Jake Lindquist made a motion to increase tournament registration fees to $210, remove early bird discount and move to online registration only; Julie Willert seconded; motion carries.
New Business By-law review – Article VII, Spring/Summer Competition – Julie Willert made a motion to abolish Article VII; Brent Gohl seconded; motion carries. Nick Guida motioned to adjourn the meeting; Julie Willert seconded the motion.
