Rev. C. Scott Helton, Pastor Rev. Trey Dishner, Worship Pastor www.bethelbaptistmorristown.org Session 1: August 6-September 17; Small Group Fellowship Sept. 24 Session 2: October 1-November 12; Small Group Fellowship – Nov. 26
SUNDAYS at 6 PM Coming Sunday, August 6, four new bible studies will be offered for adults. Once this session is complete, the same four studies will be offered again beginning October 1. This will allow you to participate in two classes this fall.
“Game Plan for Life”, led by Tony Long (for men) Written with the sports fan in mind, this study is an “average Joe’s” guide to what the Bible has to say about such topics as relationships; finances; physical, emotional and spiritual health; finding the right vocation; living a life of purpose; and overcoming sin and addiction. Written by 3-time Super Bowl coach and NASCAR championship winning owner Joe Gibbs with contributions from many others such as Randy Alcom, John Lennox, Tony Evans, Josh McDowell, Don Meredith and more, the book shows readers how to live a balanced, God-centered, purposefilled life, using examples from Coach Gibb’s own careers as a back-drop. This book is a perfect blend of sports and basic theology, designed to bring God’s word home to all sports fans.
“I Will”, led by Pastor Scott Helton (for men and women) This study which consists of 4 study lessons and 2 small mission projects chosen by the group is for those who are looking to serve the Lord. Every day we are faced with the needs of those around us. Emotional. Physical. Spiritual. Could you be the answer to the problems you see? Bestselling author Thom S. Rainer offers nine simple traits that all church members can incorporate into your life no matter your background, stage of life, or sense of capability. You can do it. Now it’s time to just stand up and say you will!
“The Longing in Me”, led by Melanie Morgan (for women) Whether you know it or not, all you long for is God. The work of recognizing that may take a lifetime, but the result will be peace, patience and freedom from the mistakes that have controlled your life. In the book, Sheila Walsh tells the story of her first marriage and the parallels with her troubled childhood. Closely guided by the story of King David, she makes it clear that your longings are rooted in a need for God alone—and when it comes to filling that void, nothing else will ever do. You can tap the One Fountain that will quench your deepest thirst. You can change the way you respond to life’s stresses. You can heal from the past and find joy today. Not someday. Today.
“Frequency”, led by Kay McMurry (for men and women) Listen…God is speaking. Do you hear him? Encouraging you to open your spiritual “ears”, Morris helps you determine which channels God is using to broadcast his intentions. Discover how to discern his specific vs. his general voice, recognize the multiple ways he communicates, draw closer to him by reading his Word, and more.

Shoebox Stories
Sunday Morning, August 20
Many who received Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes when they were children have written their stories to share how much that box actually meant to them. These stories are heart-warming and tell the importance of sharing the love of Jesus with a few small items in a shoebox, such as the story of Vladimir and the dental floss he received when he was nine.
Whether you donate items or pack a box on your own, getting that box shipped to a child that desperately needs to hear about Jesus isn’t cheap. All monetary donations given in this special offering will be used to offset the shipping of our shoeboxes. Please give generously! We are still accepting donated items in the foyer!
Missions Leaders Training Saturday, August 26 8:30 AM—12:30pm Russellville Baptist Church Nobody can do everything, But Everybody can do SOMETHING!
Watch for Vladimir’s story and more in your August Sunday bulletins!

Proposed Van Ministry
The church needs men and women who are willing to volunteer to drive or chaperone on a 12 to 14 passenger van – No CDL required! With enough volunteers, teams could rotate weeks to provide transportation to and from church services. This service could have an eternal impact on children and others in our community that do not drive. Please sign up in the foyer if you are interested. If you have any questions or concerns, please see Todd Morgan or Rhonda Stockton.
WMU Food Drive for Children at Union Heights It’s not a child’s fault when he is hungry! Collecting Non-Perishable food easy enough for a child to prepare – Collection box in the foyer If questions, see Maxine Harrison or Kay McMurry
Time to Step Up! Our children’s Sunday School attendance has DECREASED over the past year (per SS report, business meeting, July 12), and now we are having a hard time finding children’s Sunday School teachers for the upcoming year! We CANNOT slip on this! WE MUST MINISTER to our children. If you are willing to help, please see Calvin Brock.
