2018 Bison Roundup Jamboree Boulder Hockey Club
General Information and Jamboree Rules/Format:
1) Age Classification: This is a USA Hockey sanctioned event for Mite Beginner Level or Mini Mite teams only (ages 8 & under - house/recreational). 2) Location: Sports Stable at Superior
3) Tournament Dates: President’s Day Weekend, February 17, 2018. 4) Registration & Fees:
a) Registration deadline is January 21, 2018.
b) A maximum of 36 Mite Beginner level teams will be accepted.
c) Additional teams may be accepted as approved by the tournament director based on ice availability. d) Entry fees are $350 for each team. Admission is free for all spectators.
e) To apply for the Jamboree a team must send a completed application, tentative roster, and a check payable to Boulder Hockey Club to: Sports Stable Attn: Mite Director One Superior Plaza Way Superior, CO 80027
f) Team applications will ask for your team’s jersey colors. We will do our best to match opponents in light vs. dark jerseys. g) Once a team is accepted into the Jamboree no refunds will be provided.
Un-cashed checks will be returned to any team that is not accepted.
5) General Jamboree Format and Rules:
a) All Beginner teams will play minimum four 30 minute cross ice games.
b) This jamboree shall count as 2 games towards your 8U maximum game count. You are allowed a maximum number of 24 games per CAHA P&P Section 7. c) USA Hockey ADM rules regarding 8-Under will apply.
d) All players, coaches, and managers must be registered with USA Hockey for the current season to be eligible for Jamboree. This will be verified at check-in e) The Jamboree committee will enforce the USA Hockey zero tolerance policy for spectators, parents, coaches and players. Anyone who violates these principles will be removed from the Jamboree. f) Protests will not be allowed for any reason. The intent of this jamboree is to promote good sportsmanship and fun.
g) Travel permits will be required and checked for all teams from an affiliate requiring travel permits (and all non-US teams).
6) Check In:
a) Each team is required to check in 45 minutes prior to their first game and show copies of the following USA Hockey credentials prior to participation. Only the manager is required to check in. * Team roster including birth certificate verification. * Copies of current coaching certification cards for each coach * USA Hockey Code of Conduct and Consent to Treat forms
7) Locker Room Policy:
a) Dressing area assignments will be posted in the rink lobby prior to each game. b) All teams m ust follow the USA Hockey Safesport Locker Room Policy. c) Each team s hould report to their assigned dressing areas 30 minutes prior to first game time and be ready to take the ice 10 minutes prior to game time. d) Each team shall be out of their locker room within 30 minutes of end of game.
8) Beginner Game Format:
a) All games shall be cross ice and be 30 minutes long (includes 3-minute warm-up). b) Each team will have four or five skaters to a side, depending on total players per
team, per game. Number of players is at the coaches’ discretion, we recommend 4 unless both teams have more than 12 skaters.
c) No dressed goalies are allowed. Mini nets or intermediate nets will be used for all
games.
d) The horn will sound every 90 seconds for line changes, with a running clock.
e) Scores will not be kept. There will not be any overtime periods or tie-breakers.
Results will not be posted.
f)
No referees will be provided. Games will be supervised by coaches (1per team).
g) There will be a face off to start the game and after all goals. h) Blue Game Pucks will be provided. i) j)
Only USA Hockey certified coaches and players are allowed on the ice/bench:
Refusal to play scheduled games will result in forfeit. No refund will be given.
9) Awards: Each participant will receive an award and goodie bag.
10) Damage to Facilities: The Head Coach, or one of their assistants if they are not available, is totally responsible for the locker room. This responsibility CANNOT be delegated to a parent volunteer or any other individual that is not an assistant coach on the team. Should any player or team willfully damage any property in the facility, all costs for repair or replacement shall be paid by the team concerned. Arrangements for restitution shall be made immediately with the rink management. Any profanity or abusive behavior towards rink personnel will result in ejection from the rink and the jamboree.
