Use (2) medium, (1) light, and (1) dark fabrics. Fabrics are listed in order of use. 4. Sew together (3) pieced squares from Step 2 and (1) G square, as shown; press all toward left. Make (2) Unit #3.
A - (1) rectangle, 1 1⁄4" x 2" (MEDIUM #1) B - (1) square, 2" x 2" (MEDIUM #2) C - (2) rectangles, 1 1⁄4" x 2 3⁄4" (MEDIUM#1) D - (1) rectangle, 1 1⁄4" x 3 1⁄2" (MEDIUM #1) E - (5) squares, 2 3⁄8" x 2 3⁄8" (LIGHT) F - (5) squares, 2 3⁄8" x 2 3⁄8" (DARK) G - (2) squares, 2" x 2" (LIGHT) -----------------------------------------------------Assembly 1. Sew A rectangle to bottom of B square; press toward B. Continue by sewing and pressing C’s and D to B square in clockwise manner, as shown, to make Unit #1.

5. Lay out Unit #1, Unit #2’s, and Unit #3’s. Sew middle row Unit #2’s to Unit #1; press toward Unit #1. Sew rows together (press toward center row) to create the Rocky Mountain Puzzle block measuring 6 1⁄2" square.

2. Draw a diagonal line, corner to corner, on the wrong side of (1) E square and place on (1) F square, right sides together; pin in place. Stitch a 1⁄4" seam allowance on each side of drawn line. Cut in half and press pieced squares toward F. Make (10) pieced squares. E

3. Sew together (2) pieced squares from Step 2; press toward right pieced square. Make (2) Unit #2.
