Bringing Back Bountiful Hockey Bountiful Hockey has had a long and successful history despite a nearly 10year absence from the local high school hockey scene. The energy and resources that it takes to keep a youth hockey presence in the community is a monumental task. The payoff for the youth and families in the community is tremendous. Consider being part of the movement that resurrects the Bountiful Hockey team and provides a place for youth to continue to play this fast and exciting sport through their high school years. The Bountiful team is co-ed. We don’t turn away any eligible player and we encourage girls to join the team. We welcome new players and we create opportunities for all levels to acquire and develop their hockey skills. Thank you for considering a donation to Bountiful Hockey. As noted below, hockey is costly. It is incredibly popular because it is thrilling, it builds great team spirit, camaraderie, develops character, creates leaders, and instills confidence. Here is how your donation gets put to work. $20 buys pucks for practice $25 goes to the fund to buy a trophy case for the South Davis Recreation Center rink $46.50 pays for a player's USA Hockey Registration $75 buys a set of jerseys for one player $100 provides a scholarship for one player $170 covers one hour of ice rental $200 helps pay for a players 1st pair of ice skates $250 pays for team fees for one player $300 pays for a set of starter gear for new player $2,750 sponsors the JV team for one season $4,600 sponsors the Varsity team for one season

The Team The 2016-17 Bountiful Hockey program will have a JV and a Varsity team. The team is co-ed. For this season, Bountiful will roster players who attend Bountiful High School, Woods Cross High School, and private and charter high schools in Davis County. Ninth graders who attend schools that feed into one of the high schools aforementioned are also eligible for the Bountiful team. The net has been cast as wide as possible during this first team-building season. Prior to each season, the Utah High School Hockey Association revisits and redraws eligibility boundaries to best meet the needs of the overarching high school program, the families that support the program and the players. The Coaching Staff The Bountiful team is 100% volunteer driven. The 2016-17 Bountiful Hockey program has appointed Dave Soutter as the Head Coach for both the JV and Varsity teams. Dave brings well over 30 years of local experience as a coach, player and hockey administrator. This summer, Dave stepped up to coach a very small but enthusiastic group of high school hockey players to take the championship in the Salt Lake County High School Summer League. A few of these players had their first ice hockey games on this team and will stay on to create the core of the Bountiful Hockey team this fall. The Season The high school hockey season kicks off with regular season games starting on September 14 and wrapping up in mid-February.
